Abstract
Objective: To prepare sinomenine gel and study its skin penetration in vitro. Methods: Sinomenine gel was prepared with carbopol 980 as base material. Using improved Franz-type diffusion cell and isolated rat skin as transdermal barrier, the cumulative permeation quantity of sinomenine was determined by HPLC method. Results: The penetration equation of sinomenine gel was Q=65.852 t-55.677(r=0.991 9).The cumulative permeation quantity of sinomenine in 10 h was 638 μg/cm~2.Conclusion: A sinomenine gel was developed. The penetration of sinomenine from the gel through the rat skin follows first-order kinetics.
