Application of clinical pathway in the perioperative stage of total hip arthroplasty in elderly patients

Objective To study the effect and significance of clinical nursing pathway (CNP)and holistic nursing(HN) in 94 patients suffered from total hip replacement(THR). Methods The patients in research group received CNP, gaven the overwhelming assessment and admission introduction, provided them and their dependents with stables of CNP for their cooperation by the responsible nurse. Results The days of admission in research group,hospitalization expenses and the rate of post-operative complication in research group decresaed significantly than those in control group (P0.05); the patient satisfaction in research group was 98.6%, while 92.1% in control group , with significant difference (P0.05). Conclusion Applying CNP in patients suffered from THR can shorten the days of admission, lower the rate of post-operative complication, increase the patience satisfaction and master health knowledge, which can be wildly used in clinical experience.
