What Stimulated the Development of Palatial-Styled Poetry in the Liang Dynasty

The palatial-styled poems were the products resulting from the continuous absorption of new ideas, the development of Chinese poetry and the progress of literary creativity since the Six Dynasties. Under the influence of the views on aesthetics held by Emperor Wen, Xiao Geng, and Emperor Yuan, Xiao Yi, in the Liang Dynasty, the palatial-styled poetry freed itself from the tradition bondage from the Confucian politics and its moralistic roles and established its independent status and values as a genuine literature with aesthetical features. This is why the palatial poems in the Liang Dynasty could develop so quickly.
