Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the effects and mechanisms of celecoxib on proliferation of human gastric cancer cells line. Methods: The proliferration of gastric cancer cell line was measured by using MTT assay.radioimmunoassay(RIA) was used to determine the influence of celexoxib on the level of 6-keto-PGF_(1α) in the supenatant of cultured gastric cancer cell. The effect of celecoxib on expression of VEGF was analyzed by using immunocellular chemical staining. Results: The growth of human gastric cancer cell line SGC7901 was inhibited by celecoxib.Treated with celecoxib, the production of 6-keto-PGF_(1α) in the supernatant of cultured cell was suppressed in a dose-dependent manner.Celecoxib also decreased the expression of VEGF and in a time-dependent manner. Conclusion: Celecoxib inhibites the growth of gastric cancer cell via suppression of 6-keto-PGF_(1α) and VEGF.
