Health Examination Results of Pupils in Rizhao City in 2009

[Objective]To investigate the health status of pupils in Rizhao city,explore the influencing factors,and put forward the intervention measures.[Methods]6909 school students were selected from primary schools directly under city government.The examination items included internal medicine,surgery,ophthalmology,stomatology and otorhinolaryngology.The health examination methods and evaluation standard were in accordance with the regulations of the Management Method for Examination of Primary and Middle School Students promulgated by the Ministry of and Ministry of Education.[Results]There were significant differences in the poor eyesight rate and caries incidence among different grades.In same grade,the poor eyesight rate and caries incidence of girls was higher than that of boys,and the abnormal color vision rate and overweight rate of boys was higher than that of girls (P0.01).[Conclusion]The detection rate of dental caries and poor eyesight among pupils in this city was high.The relevant administrative department,schools and families should pay enough attention to physical constitution and health status of students,establish the guiding ideology of Health First,develop the quality education,and lighten the learning burden,so as to improve the health levels of students.
