Abstract

The research of regional land use structure change and driving forces can provide theoretical gist for the optimized configuration of regional land use, land layout and management.Using the approach combining quantitative and qualitative methods, based on statistical and detailed survey data of land use, society and economy in the city zone of Kaifeng in 2000 and 2008,this paper analyzes the main driving forces in the change of land use structure. The result of the research shows that farmland and non-used land are quickly decreasing, while construction land, forest land and water area greatly increase. It is concluded that the main driving factors of the change of land use structure in this area are natural environment, population growth, development of economy and urbanization, and the change of policy.
