Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effects of eye acupuncture on brain-deprived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) expression and study the mechnism of ischemia-reperfusion injury improved. Methods:Rats established by suture method were randomly divided into the control group, the sham operation group, the model group and the eye-acupuncture group. After reperfusion 72h,the neurophysical behaviours were accessed by ZeaLonga neurophysical impairment marks;the expression of ischemic cerebral cortex BDNF mRNA was measured by RT-PCR method;the expression of ischemic cerebral cortex BDNF protein was detected by immunohisto-chemistry and Western blot technology. Results:After reperfusion 72h,compared with the model group, the neurologic impairment marks of the eye-acupuncture group decreased obviously(P0.05);The expressions of BDNF mRNA and protein in rat cerebral cortex after the eye acupuncture therapy were obviously decreased(P0.01).Conclusion:The eye acupuncture therapy can increase the expression of BDNF in rat cerebral cortex with ischemia-reperfusion injury, and protect brain by improving the repair of neurons.
