Influence of Herbicides on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Maize

Abstract

Effect of different herbicides on seed germination and seedling growth of Maize was studied in this paper.The results showed that,seedling height,root length,dry weight decreased with the increase of herbicides except Paraquat.At the same time,the number of secondary roots in 4 kinds of herbicide treatments was higher than CK while decreased with the concentration increase of Pendimethalin;Except for treatments by middle,high concentrations of Pendimethalin or high concentrations of YULONG,seed germination rate by the remaining treatments was higher than that of the control.In short,seed germination and seedling growth of Maize were stimulated by treatment of Paraquat among the experimental intervals.
