Abstract
Since the 1980's in the field of L2 Writing Teaching,a transformation from the point of view of society and culture has emerged,i.e.the post process theory. In this thesis, the development of L2 writing teaching theories is reviewed and summarized as three transformations and three writing conceptions, especially, the correspondence and conformity between process approach and result approach, and the post-process theory's doubt and development of the process approach. In the end,it is concluded that the post process theory pays more attention to the explanation of socio-cultural contexts and the conformity of language and content, which do great help to perfect teaching methods. However, the post-process theory hasn' t formed into a new paradigm,so it hasn't ob- tained the dominant status at present.
