Comparison of effect of Losartan and Perindopril on microalbuminuria excretion in patients with hyperten- sion

To compare the effect of angiotension Ⅱ receptors antagonists (AⅡA) losartan and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) perindopril on microalbuminuria excretion in patients with hypertension. Methods: Sixty patients with essential hypertension were allocated randomly into two groups. Patients in losartan group (n -30) received losartan 50mg qd, for 4 weeks. Patients in perindopril group (n =30) received perindopril 4mg qd, for 4 weeks. Blood pressure and microalbumin were determined before and after the treatment. Results: After treatment, the blood pressure of patients in two groups are all lowered to normal and the excretion of microalbuminuria reduced obviously (P0.01). Furthermore, the efficacy of losartan was better than perindopril (P0.05). Conclusions: AⅡA and ACEI can reduced the excretion of microalbuminuria of patients with hypertension effectively, and the efficacy of A Ⅱ A is better than ACEI.
