Clinical Value of Ultrasonography Combined with MRI in the Diagnosis of Breast Cancer

Abstract

Objective To investigate and analyze the clinical value of ultrasonography combined with MRI in the diagnosis of breast cancer. Methods The clinical data of 40 cases of patients with breast cancer diagnosed and treated in our hospital from June, 2011 to June, 2013 were analyzed retrospectively. The ultrasonography and MRI images were observed. The number of diagnosed patients and the detection sensitivity rate were counted. Results A total of 95 lesions were found in the 40 cases of breast cancer. Through ultrasonography, 48 lesions were detected, the detection sensitivity rate was 50.5%; Though MRI, 81 lesions were detected, the detection sensitivity rate was 85.3%; while by the combined diagnosis method of ultrasonography and MRI, all of the 95 lesions were detected. 21 cases(52.5%) were diagnosed by ultrasonography, 32 cases(80%) were diagnosed by MRI, while by the combined diagnosis method, 40 cases of breast cancer were all diagnosed. The detection sensitivity rate and the diagnosis rate of the combined diagnosis method were higher than those of single ultrasonography diagnosis and single MRI diagnosis, the differences were statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion For patients with breast cancer, the combination of ultrasonography and MRI could act as an effective routine diagnosis method assisting clinical preliminary screening and guiding early symptomatic treatment, and it is of worthy of clinical promotion.
