On the Relationship of YUAN Shi-kai and LIANG Shi-yi

Abstract

Because LIANG Shi\|yi had a good command of modern social and natural science, YUAN Shi\|kai appreciated him and made him one of his aides and staff. In politics, though LIANG was of much help to YUAN, suspicious YUAN Shi\|kai began to become estranged from him because of their incompletely identical political views and LIANG's developing power. But, in YUAN's eyes, LIANG was still a talent counselor, so he can not help but consult with LIANG about some important issues. LIANG was obedient to YUAN in politics hiding his different political views and helped YUAN rectify finance in order to develop his power. LIANG's devoting to economic work was benefit to YUAN Shi\|kai.
