Clinical analysis of rupture of posterior capsule in phacoemulsification.

Abstract

To analyze the causes and management of rupture of posterior capsule during phacoemulsification.Methods Phacoemulsification and IOL were performed in 780 eyes with senile,complicated,congenital and traumatic cataract.The patients were followed up for 3～15 months.Results There were 24 eyes (3.08%) with rupture of posterior capsule.Occurrence of rupture of posterior capsule is related to hardness of cataract,control of intraocular pressure,successful continuous curiviliner capsulorhexis,Skill in phacoemulsification.Conclusion Early identification and correct management of rupture of posterior capsule are important for postoperative effect.
