Abstract
Objective:This study is to observe the clinical effects of carvedilol for treating congestive heart failure(CHF)in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy(DCM).Methods:All30patients with CHF secondary to dilated cardiomyopathy were treated with digitalis, diuretics,AˉCEI and nitroglycerin, and were divided randomly into carvedilol group treated additionally with carvedilol and conventional treatment group. Before and3months after treatment,NYHA grading evaluation and echocardiography were performed. Results:After treatment for3months,the cardiac function inproved markedly in both groups, but that of carvedilol group improved more significantly than that of conventional group. Conclusion:Compared with conventional treatment, carvedilol is more effective in improving CHF.
