Abstract

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of sodium ferulate(SF) combined with benazepril on type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) with clinical diabetic nephropathy(DN). Methods Sixty T2DM patients with clinical DN were randomly divided into two groups , thirty patients in the treatment group were treated with SF combined with benazepril; the other thirty patients in the control group were treated with benazepril only, with a treatment course of 12 weeks for both groups. Results The effects of reducing proteinuria and improving renal function in the treatment group were superior to those in the control group (P 0.05 ); the effects of reducing blood pressure and improving blood glucose and blood lipid were superior to those in the control group, too(P 0.05 ). Conclusion SF combined with benazepril is effective in treating T2DM with clinical DN, which can protect renal function, reduce proteinuria, decrease blood pressure and improve blood glucose and blood lipid, deserving clinical application.
