Clinical analysis of stapled prolapasectomy(PPH) to treat severe hemorrhoids

Objective:To evalute the efficacy of the procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids(PPH) in the treatment of patients with severe hemorrhoids(gradeⅢ～IV).Methods:80 cases of hemorrhoids at third or fourth degree were operated on by PPH.Result:The mean operation time was 8～14 minutes and mean hospitalication time was 3.8 days.Postoperation bleeding was noted in 12 cases(15%)at the 1th and 8th day after operation,which was cured by conservative methods.35 patients had no annal spasm following the procedure.Follow-up period lasting for 1～12 months showed no complications.Conclusions:Hemorrhoidectomy for proplapsed hemorrhoid with stapler is a simple,safe procedure with good results,low complications and early recovery,it may be an alternative for the conrentional heamorrhoidectomy.
