Abstract

Translation plays a key role in the development and construction of the national culture.Ten centuries of Buddhist translation has infused into Chinese large amount of Buddhist vocabulary and brought important changes of syntax,textual structure,and literary genres,to Chinese,which has greatly enhanced the expressivity of Chinese and promoted the development of Chinese literature.Translation of western texts starting from the late Qing Dynasty serves as the short cut to the modern Chinese enlightenment,bringing about the Chinese Renaissance.
