Clinical application of cerebral grey matter and white matter image in MRI for gray matter heterotopia

Abstract

Objective: To study the clinical value of MR cerebral grey matter and white matter image in diagnosing gray matter heterotopia.Methods: Five cases of gray matter heterotopia confirmed by clinic and MRI were retrospectively analyzed.All cases were examined with routine T1-weighted,T2weighted,FLAIR sequences,grey matter and white matter image.Results: The lesions in 5 cases of gray matter heterotopia had similar signals with cerebral grey matter in MRI every sequence.Heterotopic grey matter were satisfactory observed,especially in the grey matter and white matter image.It was more contributive to judge the character of lesions,than other sequence.Conclusion: MR cerebral grey matter and white matter image has unique value in diagnosing gray matter heterotopia.They can supply more immediate image information in analysis etiology of epilepsy.For gray matter heterotopia,it is very essential to find a focus and to judge its character.MR cerebral grey matter and white matter image is a essential complementarity to routine sequences.It has higher application value in clinic.
