Abstract
The antimony(Ⅲ) reacts with 4'-hydroxyl-3'-methoxy Phenylfluorone(HMPF) to form a stable red complex in the presence of H_2S_2O_4 and dodecyldimethylbenzylammonium bromide(DDMBAB). The composition of the complex is Sb(Ⅲ) ∶HMPF =1∶3. The absorption maximum of the complex is at 534nm with apparent molar absorptivity of 4.62×104 L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1). Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0~0.96mg /L for antimony. The method has been applied to the direct determination of antimony in copper ores with satisfactory results.
