Abstract
Objective To discuss the effect of three-dimmentional conformal radiotherapy on non-small cell lung cancer in the elderly. Methods 50 cases over 70-year-old patients with non-small cell lung cancer received three-dimmentional conformal radiotherapy at a dose of 4000cGy to 6000cGy.Results All the cases received three-dimmentional conformal radiotherapy successfully, complete remission(CR) rate was 48.0%(24/50),partial remission(PR) rate was 38.0%(19/50) and the total efficiency(CR + PR)for the 86.1%(43/50);1-,2-and 3-year survival rate were 82.0%(41/52),52.0%(26/50) and 26.0%(13/50);The incidences of acute radiation pneumonitis and pulmonary fibrosis were 20.0%(10/50),which were cured by medication. Conclusion Three-dimmentional conformal radiotherapy for aged patients with lung cancer is a good therapeutic selection with improved survival quality and identical survival rate.
