Abstract
Objective To investigate the changes and clinical significance of serum levels of sex hormones in male patients with hepatic cirrhosis. Methods The follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), luteinizing hormone(LH), estradiol(E_2), testosterone(T) and prolactin(PRL) of 67 male patients with hepatic cirrhosis and 34 men in the control group were examined for statistical analysis. Results The serum levels of T, E_2 and PRL in male patients with hepatic cirrhosis were significantly different to the control group (P0.01). Conclusion There are disorders and imbalances of sex hormones in male patients with hepatic cirrhosis, and the detection of T, E_2 and PRL may have some value to hepatic cirrhosis diagnosis.
