Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between the Changes in serum sex hormone level and liver cirrhosis. Methods The serum sex hormone level was measured by radioimmunoassay in 80 cases of liver cirrhosis and 20 normal subjects. The 80 cases of liver cirrhosis were divided into A-,Band C-level groups based on Child-pugh classification and the comparison was made between the groups. Results The levels of T and E2 in the liver cirrhosis groups(A-,Band C-level groups)were lower than the normal control group(P0.01)and the levels of FSH,LH and PRL were higher than the normal control group(P0.01). The Child-pugh classification was negatively correlated with T and E2 levels(r=0.55,r=-0.49,P0.05)and was positively correlated with the PRL,LH and FSH levels(r=0.43,r=0.47,r=0.46, P0.05). Conclusion There are different levels of sex hormone disorder in liver cirrhosis, and the determination of changes in the sex hormone level can be used as an indicator of the clinical prognosis
