Abstract
AIM The purpose is to study phenolic acids from Ilex purpurea Hassk. METHODS The chemical constituents were isolated by silica gel column chromatography, and the chemical structures were elucidated by 1HNMR, 13 CNMR. RESULTS Four phenolic acids have been isolated from the ether extract. They have been identified as protocatechuic acid(Ⅰ), protocatechuic aldehyde(Ⅱ), gentisic acid(Ⅲ), and isovanillic acid(Ⅳ). CONCLUSION Compound Ⅲ and Ⅳare isolated from Ilex L. for the first time.
