Abstract
The volatile oil was separated by steam distilation from the dried fruit of Liquidambar formosana Hance. The result of capillary GC analysis showed that the volatile oil contains at least 54 chemical constituents. By means of GO/MS combination, sixteen of them were identified as β-terpinene,β-pinene, limonene,γ-terpinene, myrtenal, α-terpineol, trans-carveol, thymol, carvacrol,copaene,β-elemene, trans-β-farnesene, α-munrolene, a-elemene, cadinene and elemol. These 16 constituents of the fruit of Liquidambar formosana Hanoe were reported for the first time.
