Abstract

Objective To study the effects of limited debridement under arthroscopy and systematical intensive rehabilitation for treatment of middle or severe knee osteoarthritis. Methods According to the extent of arthroscopic degenerative change of articular cartilage,17 patients with middle or severe knee osteoarthritis were treated with limited debridement under arthroscopy and systematical preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation. Results All patients were followed up for 5 months to 3 years(mean 21 months).6 cases(35.3 %) received good results,9(52.9%)fair results, and 2(11.8%)poor results. Conclusions Limited debridement under arthroscopy and systematical intensive rehabilitation is effective for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis
