Effect Analysis of Prenatal Health Education on Community Maternal

Objective To explore the impact of prenatal health education on community pregnant women. Methods 125 pregnant women from October 2009 to November 2011 in the community got prenatal health education as the experimental group, and at the same period 125 pregnant women in obstetrics for routine check-up as the control group, to compare the pregnant women 's childbirth way, natural childbirth time, postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal asphyxia rate between two groups. Results The experimental group had higher natural childbirth rate and lower cesarean section rate than the control group with significant difference (P 0.05); the control group had longer time of the first stage, second stage and third stage than the experimental group with significant difference (P 0.05); the control group had more number of cases of postpartum hemorrhage and higher neonatal asphyxia rate than the experimental group with statistically significant difference (P 0.05). Conclusion Prenatal health education can effectively avoid antenatal and postpartum complications, which has great significance to ensure maternal and child health.
