Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of serum fibrosis index in the diagnosis of hepatic fibrosis. Methods One hundred and fourteen serum samples from chronic hepatitis patients were detected by RIA for fibrosis indexes including PCⅢ、PⅢNP、LN、HA、C-Ⅳ . Liver biopsies were also performed in these patients. Results ROC analysis showed that AUCs of PⅢNP , HA, PCⅢ, C-Ⅳ, LN were 0.800、0.728、0.727、0.583、 0.463, respectively. PⅢNP , HA, and PCⅢ showed greater diagnosis performances than did C-Ⅳ and LN for fibrosis staging. The combination of all assays mentioned above could improve the specificity, but could not improve the sensitivity. Conclusions Serum fibrosis indexes can predict the tendency of hepatic fibrosis, but can not replace liver biopsy. More efficient serum fibrosis indexes are needed to diagnose hepatic fibrosis.
