Clinical efficacy of platelet transfusion isolated by hand and apheresis

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of platelet transfusion isolated by hand and apheresis. Methods Eighty patients who received platelet transfusion were investigated retrospectively and divided into long period apheresis platelet transfusion group, long period hand-separated platelet transfusion group, short period apheresis platelet transfusion group and short period hand-separated platelet transfusion group by platelet gathering methods and period of platelet transfusion treatment. Each group included 20 patients. Plt in circulation was measured before and 24 hours after platelet transfusion. Results 24 hours after platelet transfusion, Plt in circulation of long period apheresis platelet transfusion group , long period hand-separated platelet transfusion group, short period apheresis platelet transfusion group and short period hand-separated platelet transfusion group were increased for(4.1±2.6)×109/L,(3.8±3.0)×109/L,(14.2±6.2)×109/L and (27.4±13.0)×109/L, respectively. The difference was not significant(P0.05) between the two long period groups, the clinical symptoms did not improve. However, significance difference(P0.05)was observed between the two short groups and the clinical symptoms ameliorated evidently. Conclusions Short period platelet transfusion has better clinical effect than long period platelet transfusion. Hand-separated platelet transfusion can enhance the curative effect of short period apheresis platelet transfusion.
