Clinical Effect of Curosurf in the Prevention of Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome

Abstract

Objective To explore the Clinical effect of Curosurf in the prevention of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome.Methods A retrospective analysis was made on 60 neonatal with gestational age 32 weeks of our hospital from March 2011 to December 2011.The neonatal were randomly divided into two groups: Control group and Curosurf group,and both groups were given NCPAP,while only the Curosurf group was treated by Curosurf by endotracheal intubation.The following items were recorded and compared between groups such as Apgar scores,blood gas analysis and the incidence of respiratory distress syndrome.Results(1) The Apgar scores(P0.05),blood PaO2(P0.01),blood pH(P0.05) of Curosurf group were higher than those of Control group,while the blood PaCO2(P0.05) of Curosurf group was lower;(2) there were 12 cases of NRDS patients in Control group,while only 3 cases in Curosurf group with a statistically significant difference(P0.01).Conclusion Pretreatment with Curosurf for newborns with gestational age 32 weeks can effectively prevent the occurrence of respiratory distress syndrome,and can improve blood gas analysis and Apgar score,which is worth being promoted in the prevention of NRDS.
