Evaluation of Left Ventricular Function in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease Using Tei Index

Abstract

Objective To evaluate left ventricular function(LVF)in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD)using Tei index.Methods The left ventricular ejection time(ET)and Tei indexes in 34 patients with CAD and 34 healthy volunteers were measured by using pulsed Doppler echocardiography(PDE)separately,which were compared between the two groups.Results Tei indexes in patients with CAD were significantly higher than those in the normal controls(P0.001),and ET were significantly lowser than those in the nomal controls(P0.01).Conclusion Tei indexes can evaluate LVF in patients with CAD effectively.
