STUDY OF ASSESSING LEFT VENTRICULAR FUNCTION IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETIC CARDIOMYOPATHY BY TEI INDEX

Abstract

Objective:To assess the left ventricular function in patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy by Tei index.Methods and Results: Left ventricular Tei index,ejection fraction and other indexes were calculated with Aloka a-10 ultrasonic system in 70 normal and 60 patients no significant difference between the two groups,but the Tei indices were much higher than that of the control group.Conclusion:Tei index is more accurate and sensitive to assess the left ventricular function in patients with diabetic cardiomyopathy.
