CNKI-based Statistical Analysis and Evaluation of Papers in Forest Science——with Northwest A&F University as a case

With Northwest AF University the subject of study,its academic papers from 2000-2012 in forestry science were analyzed based on the statistic platform of CNKI in terms of quantity,journals,authors,funding categories and communication impact(number of paper download and their citation frequency).The result showed that the quantity of papers is rising;most papers are published in journals sponsored by Northwest AF University while only small proportion gets published on prestigious and high impart factor journals such as the Scientia Silvae Sinicae and Forest Research.Most of papers have more than one authors indicating the research coming from team rather than individual.Sources of foundation funding the papers are plural but less with international funds.Papers with high citation frequency are most related to dry and semi-dry forest research,forest ecosystem research in loess plateau and Qinling Mountains.Based on the analysis,it was suggested that university should strengthen international academic cooperation and research team construction,and improve the quality of university-sponsored journals.
