Abstract
Objective To evaluate the method of repair of inguinal hernia. Methods 162 cases of mesh plug hernia repair and 106 cases of traditional hernia repair were retrospectively reviewed in our hospital from Oct.2000 to Jun 2005.Results The mesh plug hernia repair had greater advantages than the traditional hernia repair such as fewer complications and lower recurrence,a wider surgical indication, easier surgical performance, shorter operation time and quicker recovery. Conclusion The mesh plug hernia repair in local anesthesia is a perfect surgical choice. Its main characteristics are:less trauma, quicker recovery, fewer complications and simpler performance. It is especially suitable to the elder patients and/or patients with other diseases.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
