Detection of Peripheral Blood Lymphocyte Subsets in Early Sero-Resisitant Syphilis

Objective To study of the correlation of cellular immunity and sero-resistance.Methods:T-lymphocyte subsets and NK cells in peripheral blood were measured by flow cytometry (FCM) in 30 early syphilis patients with sero-negative and 20 sero-resistant patients with early syphilis,and 30 healthy subjects were taken as controls.Result:(1) The sero-re- sistant patients had lower CD3 and CD4 lymphocytes (P0.05),but higher CD8 cells in comparision with the sero-negative and the healthy,and NK cells exhibited no significant difference.(2) It showed no obvious difference of the CD3、CD4、CD8 and NK cells levels between the sero-negative and the healthy.Conclusion:Cellular immunity imbalance and immune suppression can be present in sero-resistant patients with early syphilis,which may help Treponema pallidum to succeed in escaping the im- mune-monitoring of organism and survive.This may be one of the reasons of sero-resistance.
