Abstract

In order to study the changeable correlation and its significance between the serum nitric oxide (NO) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). The serum NO and TNF-α were measured in 30 patients with DCM and 40 normals by colorimetry and enzyme immunosorbent assay respectively. The results showed:the serum NO and TNF-α were all sinificantly increased than the contrast group (all P0. 01) and there was positive correlation beteen NO and TNF-α (P0. 01 ). Conclution: The high level of TNF-α can promote the production of NO,both NO and TNF-α may play important roles in the pathophysiologic changes of DCM.
