Abstract
High fill subgrade in mountainous area should be designed with targeted and comprehensive concepts according to complex landform and geological conditions. Depending on a highway under construction in the mountainous area in Guangdong, the current main filling technology and process for high fill subgrade were analyzed, thus the comprehensive filling scheme including rock fill and reinforcement soil subgrade and then by high performance road roller were put forward. In addition, the further comparison with various related filling schemes from the aspects of stability and settlement was carried out. Among the 4schemes,the one having rockfill at the bottom + reinforcement soil subgrade in the middle + further compaction could meet the requirement of stability and settlement of high fill subgrade in mountainous area.
