Abstract

Objective To determine the efficacy of sodium glycididazole(CMNa) administered concomitantly with radiotherapy in treating nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC).Methods Eighty patients with local advanced NPC were enrolled and assigned to two groups by randomization.In the research group,CMNa was administered three wimes per week at 400 mg during the entire course of radiotherapy.In the control group,the patients received similar treatment except CMNa.Results The response rate(CR+PR) was 92.5% in research group and 72.5% in the control group.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P 0.05).The side effects were similar.Conclusion The results suggest that the radiationsensitizer CMNa can enhance the efficacy of radiotherapy in treatment of patients with local advanced NPC.
