Effects on patients with lumbar disc herniation treated by McKenzie therapy

Objective:To investigate the short-term and long-term effect in patients with lumbar disc herniation whom were treated by McKenzie therapy.Method:76patients were randomly divided into experiment group and control group.Using traction,manipulation and McKenzie therapy to treat patients in experiment group and using traction,manipulation in control group.We observed the lumbar functional assessment index at the point time of pro-treat,post-treat and ten months after treatment and the recurrence ratio in patients ten months after treatment.Result:The short-term effect in two group had no significant difference(P0.05).But had much less therapeutic time in the experiment group,the recurrence ratio in patients ten months after treatment was obviously lower than the control group(P0.05)and the lumbar functional assessment index obviously higher than the control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Mckenzie therapy play a significant role in shortening the therapeutic time and improving long-term effect in patients with lumbar disc herniation.
