Abstract

Objective:To discuss the changes of SOD/MDA and NO/NOS in aged rats' brain tissues during their aging process;investigate the effects of long-term swimming to SOD/MDA and NO/NOS and the correlation between SOD/MDA and NO/NOS.Method:24 young and aged rats were divided into 3 groups:8 for young control group(QC),8 for aged control group(LC),and 8 for aged exercising group(LT).Rats of LT kept swimming for 8 weeks, while those of the other two groups lived freely. After the experiment, sample and measure the MDA and NOS content and the activity of SOD and NOS of brain tissues, then analyze the SOD/MDA and NO/NOS of brain tissues with linear correlation method. Results:Compared with QC,brain tissue SOD activity of LC declined by 21.18%(P0.01),MDA content increased by 49.68%(P0.01),NO content decreased by 38.25%(P0.01),NOS activity decreased by 34.81%(P0.01);compared with LC,brain tissue SOD activity of rats in LT increased by 16.95%(P0.05),MDA content decreased by 28.27%(P0.01),NO content increased by 26.22%(P0.05),brain tissue NOS activity increased by 46.61%(P0.05),brain tissue SOD activity is linearly negatively correlated with MDA content,is linearly positively correlated with NO content, but is not linearly correlated with NOS content. Conclusion:With the development of aging process;SOD,MDA,NO and NOS changes remarkably,SOD/MDA and NO/NOS are correlated between each other;long-term swimming can to some extent reverse the changes of the above-mentioned factors when aging, and is an important method to delay aging.
