Abstract
The present paper describes four new species of the genus Spilopteron Townes from China. A key to the Chinese known species of this genus is appended. All the type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica, Beijing.1. Spilopteron latiareolatum sp. nov.Front wing long: Female 14mm, Male unknown. This new species is similar to Spilopteron hongmaoensis Wang, but differs from ,it in: the' middle to apex of face with strong transverse folds, prepectal carina extending to sub-tegular ridge, nervellus curved at the middle, basal area of propodeum wider than long, and its second lateral area not clearly defined.Holotype ♀, Hainan Isl. (18°N, 109°E.) Guangdong Prov. 26. Ⅳ. 1984.2. Spilopteron fuscomaculatum sp. nov.Front wing long: Female 14.5 mm, Male unknown. This new species is allied to Spilapteron baiyanensis Wang, but can be distinguished from it by the following characters: the combined areola and petiolar area with regular wrinkles, nervellus curved a little below the middle, with a brown cloudy mark below the middle of stigma, the apex of wings and kind tibiae and tarsi all dark brown.Holotype ♀, Miaoer Mt. (26°N, 110°E.) Guanxi Prov. 1150 m. 7. Ⅶ. 1985.3. Spilopteron longiareolatum sp. nov.Front wing long: Female 16mm, Male unknown. This new species is readily distingushed from Spilopteron luteum Uchida by: the second lateral area of propodeum clearly defined, intercubilus on the inner side of the second recurrent veip, nervellus curved at the middle, flagellum of antennae, the dosal surface of tibiae and the (tarsi of hind legs all brown.Holotype ♀, Chongan (27°N, 118°E) Fujian Prov. 720m. 25. Ⅶ. 1960.4. Spilopteron splendidum sp. nov.Front wing long: Female 14mm, Male unknown. This new species differs from Spilopteron latiareolmurm sp, nov. in the following chara-cters: Face even, with distinct punctures and slender longitudinal wrinkles at the middle, the base of scutellum with lateral carina, the boundary between areola-petiolar area and second lateral area not not clear and with irrequlnity wrinkles, body red-brown and with black maculae.Holotype ♀, Yulong Mt (27°N, 100°E) Lijiang, Naxi.Aut. Co., Yunnan Prov., 2600m. 24. Ⅶ. 1984.
