The Chinese Scholarship Society and the Development of Science and Culture of Modern China

In 1916,oversea students in Japan set up Bing-Chen Study Society in Tokyo.In 1920 it was moved back china and reorganized as the Chinese Scholarship Society in 1923.It declared dissolution in 1958.As a comprehensive and massive academic association,Chinese Scholarship Society spread science and knowledge,introduced scientific principles,did academic exchanging by mean of issuing magazines,translating scientific books,publishing series of scientific books,holding annual academic congresses and science speeches,and so on.In order to advance the development of China education,cultivate new style talented persons,Chinese Scholarship Society established Xue Yi University and Xue Yi Middle School.All these,to a certain extent,have promoted the development of scientific and cultural cause of China.
