Abstract

Objective study the relationship between serum pepsinogen(PGI,PGⅡ) level and gastric cancer. Methods Radioimmunoassay was used to detect the levels and ratio of the PGI to PGⅡin the patients with peptic ulcer, chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric cancer and post operation compared. The results were analyzed by statistics. Results Compared with patients with non-atrophic gastritis, the serum PGⅠlevels of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer were significantly lower(P0.05).There was no obvious difference of PG I between peptic ulcer and non-atrophic gastritis. There was no obvious difference of PG Ⅱ among four groups. The probability of PG Ⅰ70 μg/L and PGI to PGⅡ ratio 3 in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis and gastric cancer were higher than the patients with non-atrophic gastritis and peptic ulcer. Conclusion The changes of serum PGI and PGⅡlevels are valuable for diagnosis of gastric cancer.
