Abstract

Objective:To study the relationship between serum pepsinogen(PGI,PGⅡ)level and gastric cancer.Method:Radio immunoassay was used to detect the levels and ratio of the PGI、 PGⅡof the patients with peptic ulcer, chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric cancer and post operation compared with those of the normal control group. The results were analyzed by statistics.Result:Compared with healthy controls, the serum PGⅡlevels of patients with gastric ulcer were significantly higher(P0.01).The serum PGI levels of gastritis patients were significantly lower(P0.05) and the serum PGI levels and PGI、PGⅡratio of gastric cancer patients were much more lower(P0.01).After total gastrectomy, the serum PGI and PGⅡlevels of patients with recurrence of gastric cancer were significantly higher(P0.01)than those without recurrence. Conclusion:The changes of serum PGI and PGⅡlevels are valuable for diagnosis of gastric cancer and monitoring the recurrence of gastric cancer after total gastrectomy.
