Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical effects of fumigation with Chinese herbs combining with acupuncture on knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods:One hundred and one KOA patients were randomly divided into treatment group (38 cases),control group 1 (30 cases),and control group 2 (33 cases). Patients in treatment group were treated with fumigation plus acupuncture, while patients in control group 1 and control group 2 were treated with fumigation or acupuncture, respectively. After three weeks' treatment, the effect was observed. Results:The total effective rate was 92.1%,70.0%,and 57.6% in treatment group, control group 1,and control group 2,respectively. The effective rate in treatment group was significantly higher than those in the two control groups. Conclusion:The clinical effect of combined therapy was better than single therapy in the treatment of KOA.
