Abstract

Objective To study the clinical efficacy of risperidone combined with chlorimipramine in the treatment of refractory Tourette’ syndrome. Methods A total of 55 patients with Tourette’s syndrome were randomly divided into study group (risperidone with chlorimipramine) and control group(risperidone) for eight weeks of treatment. All the patients were examined with the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale (YGTSS) before and after the treatment. Results The score of YGTSS in the study group was significantly lower than that of control group (P0.05).The effective rate in study group was 87.51% and that in control study was 66.66% on the 8th weekend after treatment(P0.05),and there was significant difference between two groups(χ2=9.46,P0.05).Conclusion Risperidone combined with chlorimipramine is effective for treating refractory Tourette’syndrome.
