Analysis of Non-Rational Use of Drugs in Emergency Prescriptions

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the reasons for the non-irrational use of drugs and put forward its solutions.METHODS:5 000 emergency prescriptions between Jan. and Dec.in 2006 were randomly selected for analysis of non-irrational use of drugs.RESULTS:Of the total 5 000 prescriptions,367(7.34%) involved irrational use of drugs,such as repeated medication,irrational choice of drugs,the kinds in combined use were too many,irrational drug combination,irrational in directions and dosages,and contraindications etc.CONCLUSION:Pharmacists should go to clinic to offer guidance for rational drug use in the clinic.
