Abstract

【Objective】To investigate the expression of PTEN,p53 and PCNA proteins in colorectal carcinoma and its significance.【Methods】Expressions of PTEN,p53 and PCNA were detected in paraffin-embedded tissues by immunohistochemical technique sp.The specimens included 12 normal colorectal tissues and 78 colorectal carcinoma tissues and surrounding non-tumor colorectal tissues.【Results】Expressions of PTEN in the normal colorectal tissue, the surrounding non-tumor tissue and the colorectal carcinoma tissue were 100%,96%,50%respectively..Expressions of p53 in the surrounding non-tumor tissue and the colorectal cancer tissue were 2%,62%respectively.Expressions of PCNA in the surrounding non-tumor tissue and the colorectal cancer tissue were 3%,76%.A positive correlation was noted between expression of p53 and PCNA(r=0.370,P0.05),and an inverse correlation was noted between expression of PTEN and p53 in colorectal carcinoma(r=-0.610,P0.05).【Conclusion】Down regulation of PTEN expression,p53 mutation and over expression of PCNA may play a role in occurrence of colorectal carcinoma.Associating PTEN with p53 and PCNA can offer a valuable reference to treatment and follow-up for patients after colorectal carcinoma resection.
