The Expression of p53?PCNA and Its Significance in Colorectal Neoplasm

Abstract

Objective To study the clinical value and the expression of p53 proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) in the human colorectal tumor tissues.Method The expression of p53,PCNA in 17 human colorectal adenoma, 7 cancerous change and 48 adenocarcinoma were studied with immunohistochemical (S-P) assay.Results The positive rate of p53 in adenoma, cancerous change and carcinoma was 29.4%,71.4% and 56.3% respectively. The positive expression in PCNA was parallel with that in p53 in colorectal tumor tissues.Conclusion The overexpression of p53,PCNA in colorectal tumor tissues represent that adenoma cells change from benign region to malignant region, and associate with the lymph node metastasis and 3 year survival rate.
