Expression of PCNA in colorectal carcinoma and its clinical significance

Abstract

Objective To study the expression of proliferative cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and its clinical signiflcance in colorectal carcinoma.Methods The expression of PCNA was examined by immunohistochemical S-P methods in 54 colorectal carcinoma tissues and 14 lymph nodes with metastases.Results The positive rate of PCNA was 37.0% in colorectal carcinoma,and was 78.6% in lymph nodes with metastases (P0.05). The positive rate of PCNA was 50.0% in colorectal carcinoma tissues with lymph node metastasis,and was 32.5% in those without metastasis(P0.05).Conclusion The expression of PCNA may play a role in the development and matastasis of colorectal carcinoma.
