Relationship between G894T polymorphism of endothelialnitric oxide synthesis gene and essential hypertension inHui and Han nationality of Ningxia

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the relationship between polymorphism of endothelial nitric oxide synthesis(eNOS) gene G894T and essential hypertension(EH) in Hui and Han nationality in Ningxia Province. Method:We collected 142 Hui nationality patients with EH(Hui EH group),112 with normal blood pressure(Hui control group),and 158 Han nationality patients with EH(Han EH group),176 with normal blood pressure(Han control group).We used PCR-RFLP technology to detect the polymorphism of eNOS G894T gene,and analyzed the distribution of different genotypes and allele frequency in the 2 nationality. Result:Genotype and allele frequency showed no difference among 4 groups. Conclusion:There may be no relation between eNOS G894T gene polymorphism and EH in Ningxia area,and no racial difference in polymorphism between Hui and Han population in Ningxia.
